Normally, carrots are good for your eyesight… A 46-year-old Connecticut man has been charged with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct. Apparently he and his wife were arguing when he threw a carrot at her – and the carrot hit her in the eye. The damage was bad enough to require surgery but doctors were not able to restore her sight in her left eye.
A monument to the enema, a procedure many people would rather not think about, has been unveiled at a spa in the southern Russian city of Zheleznovodsk. The bronze syringe bulb, which weighs 800 pounds and is held by three angels, cost $42,000.
A Costa Mesa man allegedly robbed taxi driver James Hooper with a large caliber handgun, then tried to escape on foot. One foot, to be exact. Police say Timothy Lambert's gun accidentally discharged, shooting his own foot. Officers followed a trail of bloody prints a short distance before arresting Lambert.
A couple returned to their Santa Fe, NM, home from a week-long vacation to an unpleasant surprise: the legs of a dead man dangling from their ceiling. Police identified the man as Carl Smith, 81, the ex-husband of the woman who lived in the home. Police said it seems the man was attempting to break into the home via the roof and died while trying to enter through the air conditioner duct.
On Monday, three German 19-year-olds, who said they were bored, allegedly hacked into an Internet auction account and bought $160 million worth of goods (including industrial machinery and airplanes) in a two-hour period.
Steve Danos, 24, was arrested in Baton Rouge, LA, as allegedly the man who had been sneaking into young women's apartments to watch them sleep and to snuggle with them. Sometimes, he would also fold their laundry.
